Rescue Operation
Rescue Operation
In the event of a road accident, every second counts. The Highway Police plays a crucial role in providing immediate assistance until medical services arrive.
Our rescue responsibilities include:
- Responding swiftly to accident alerts through our Traffic Aid Posts (TAPs) and patrol units
- Securing the accident scene to prevent secondary incidents and ensure the safety of victims and responders.
- Coordinating with emergency medical services, fire brigades, and other relevant agencies to ensure prompt arrival of ambulances.
- Managing traffic around the incident site to allow unhindered movement of rescue and relief vehicles.
The Highway Police aims to act within the “Golden Hour” — the first hour after an accident — to maximise the chances of saving lives. By maintaining constant communication with allied agencies and deploying trained personnel, we strive to ensure timely and effective rescue operations across Maharashtra’s highways.
